Jack Chanthivong
Founder & Principal Lawyer
Jack Chanthivong is the founder and Principal of Gryphon Lawyers, based in Campbelltown. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from University of Western Sydney and was admitted to practice in 2004. He has practised law for over a decade, working across family law, property law and conveyancing, wills and estates, litigation, and criminal law.
Jack founded Gryphon Lawyers to give clients across Campbelltown and South West Sydney genuine, personal legal support, rather than the high-volume, generalist experience common at larger firms. What draws him to the work is client interaction. He sees himself as part of the journey his clients are on, not simply their legal representative, and he brings that approach to every matter the firm takes on.
His guiding principle, one he reminds the team of often, is to make the legal process as simple and as free of unnecessary reading as possible for clients. As he puts it, sorting out the complexity is what the firm is there for, so clients don’t have to carry that burden themselves.
Outside the office, Jack is known around Gryphon Lawyers for a signed Michael Clarke cricket bat that hangs in his office, an enthusiasm for golf, and a somewhat contradictory relationship with heights, having done a bungee jump and a skydive on the same day despite still not loving the altitude. He’s also partial to good food, travel, his dog, and the occasional round of karaoke, vocal talent optional.
